With Banana Sport you are at the helm, with no skipper on board. The boats are small, intuitive and stable: a few minutes are enough to get the feel of the wheel, even if you do not have much experience at sea. No license, no paperwork, no course required. You can choose between small fibreglass boats and dinghies.
There is a practical bonus too: we depart from Marina Grande, the same harbour where you step off the ferry, so the moment you reach Capri you are a short walk from the boat. We show you how it works and point out the route to follow along the coast. From then on, the island is yours.

Seen from the water, Capri tells a different story. You cruise past the Faraglioni, skirt the Punta Carena lighthouse and look into the caves that open along the coast. Whenever you like, you cut the engine and dive into a quiet cove, away from the crowds in town.

Boat or dinghy?

Our boat is a small open fibreglass craft of about 5 metres, with an outboard motor, and can carry up to 4 people. The dinghy is slightly larger and can carry up to 6 people. Both are easy to drive and manoeuvre.

The dinghy is the right choice when there are more of you: slightly larger than the boat, it carries up to 6 people and stays easy to drive. Its inflatable tubes make it stable and safe, perfect for families with children and for anyone who wants more room on board. No license is needed for the dinghy either: depart from Marina Grande and explore Capri at your own pace.

Family-run
Our family has always worked in boat rental, we have permanent bases in Marina Grande and we look after you ourselves, from departure to return. In our shop/office you will also find everything you may need for a day at sea, if you are missing something: sunscreen, beach towels, swimsuits and more.

The boat stays near the coast
These boats are dedicated only to trips around Capri. Crossings to the mainland or other islands require a skipper.

Bad weather
The rental can be rescheduled or cancelled; we do not send boats out when the sea is rough.
Departure from Marina Grande.
The departure point is Marina Grande, the Capri harbour where ferries and hydrofoils land: the moment you arrive you are already a short walk from the boat. About two hours are enough to circle the island and stop for a swim in a cove; with more time you take in the whole coast at a relaxed pace and can also visit the Blue Grotto.
Our pier is also home to the water taxi service to boats anchored in the bay and the island's main beach clubs.
In high season, between July and August, demand is high: it is worth booking a few days ahead to secure the date you prefer.

No, with Banana Sport you do not need a boating license. Our boats fall within the outboard-powered category that can be rented freely, staying close to the Capri coast. We still recommend some sea experience for anyone who has never driven a boat.
No license is needed, but the boat is still a motor craft: we recommend a little common sense and care at sea, especially if you have never driven. Before departure we explain the controls and the basic rules for navigating safely along the Capri coast.
If you prefer not to drive yourself, we also have gozzo boats in different sizes available to rent with a skipper. Send us your date and number of people: we will recommend the most suitable option.
Yes. There is no minimum number of people to rent with Banana Sport: you can take the boat on your own, as well as as a couple, with friends or family. To drive you only need to be 18. When you book, tell us how many you will be so we can recommend the most suitable boat.
Yes, you must be at least 18 to drive the boat. No boating license is needed, but the driver must be of age. Children and minors are welcome on board, as long as the person at the helm is at least 18.
The price depends on the duration you choose: a few hours, a half day or a full day. Fuel is paid separately from the rental rate. The boat is delivered with a full tank; at the end of the rental our sailor will accompany you to refuel so you can pay the exact amount directly.
You can pay in cash or by card. Remember that fuel is settled separately from the rental rate.
License-free boats can carry up to 4 people, while dinghies can carry up to 6 people. For larger groups we have boats with skipper available that can carry up to 12 people.
The meeting point is at Marina Grande, Capri's main harbour where ferries and hydrofoils arrive. The boarding pier is behind the ferry and hydrofoil ticket offices. The moment you land you are already close to the boat.
If the sea does not allow safe sailing at the time of your outing, the rental is rescheduled or cancelled.
